Our Story
The story of Team BlackSheep (TxS) is not one of a corporation, but a tale of rebellion and passion. It began with Raphael Pirker, known as "Trappy," who, in 2007, was among the first in Europe to embrace FPV (First Person View) flying. While others flew with line-of-sight aircraft, Raphael donned goggles, earning his group the nickname "The Black Sheep of the hobby" for their unconventional approach. This spirit of challenging norms became the core of our identity.
Our commitment to pushing boundaries was tested in 2011 during a landmark legal battle with the FAA. This highly publicized case became a pivotal moment for the drone industry, bringing crucial attention to a nascent hobby and solidifying our role as advocates for the FPV community. We are pioneers, committed to innovation over imitation. In an industry full of replicas, we design from the ground up, creating legendary products like the TBS Crossfire that redefined long-range control.
Our mission
We maintain a relentless pursuit of technological and cost leadership. Every product we design is the result of years of real-world testing, ensuring it performs under the most demanding conditions. Our focus on modularity and plug-and-play design enables a wide range of mission-specific configurations, turning a single drone into a versatile tool for any task. By providing open protocols and ports, we empower a global community of innovators to modify our drones for their unique needs. In essence, our mission is to empower a network of "Black Sheep" to continue challenging the status quo, one groundbreaking flight at a time.
Our mission at Team BlackSheep is to redefine what's possible in the world of FPV and drones. We are not just a company that makes products; we are a collective of creators dedicated to building an open platform for instant adaptability and customization. We believe true progress comes from an open ecosystem where the tools are accessible and the possibilities are limitless. Our products are engineered for the builder, the professional, and the hobbyist, providing a foundation for you to create your own flight experience.
